Anne-Marie Sinclair – Interior Designer

Anne-Marie Sinclair is a qualified Jersey-based interior designer with over 10 years’ experience. On returning from a number of years living in Geneva, Anne-Marie took the brave decision to leave the finance industry which had been her career so far to follow her heart to retrain as an interior designer. Almost five years later she qualified with a Batchelor of Science degree in Interior Design (ID) from Glasgow Caledonian University, and immediately began working as a freelance ID consultant.

Trading under the unusual name of ‘Angels Pockets’ (originating from an Indian proverb that says ‘When a pickpocket meets an angel, all he sees are the pockets’), Anne-Marie explains that she wanted a name that reinforces the core role of the Interior Designer – using extensive product knowledge and experience to allow clients to explore the many possibilities available in creating a new design scheme.

Shortly after establishing herself, Anne-Marie quickly found that she was working on a very diverse range of commercial and residential projects. From the complete redesign of a highly contemporary 14 bedroom Villa in Ville Franche on the Cote d’Azur to the creation of the ground-up design scheme for a refurbished block of six residential apartments in a Victorian mansion in Glasgow. Anne-Marie has designed show homes for private and national property developers, created the complete interior design specification for a new combined dance studio, nail bar and hair salon and worked on many small and large residential projects in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Monaco.

Anne-Marie’s success lies in understanding that a design scheme carries a lot of emotional investment for the client. For this reason it is essential to always retain the absolute essence of the owner, and just apply the guidance of the designer.
